IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING CW APPLICATION: The CW application calls for inclusion as part of the materials submitted of a context grade report for each semester that an applicant has been a student at IU. Recently, we have learned that the IU Registrar’s office ceased producing context grade reports as of December 2023. Accordingly, applicants should include as part of the materials submitted context grade reports for each semester that are available and an unofficial transcript for any semester for which context grade reports are not available.
Membership in the Consulting Workshop is by application only. Students apply for admission, and new members are selected, during their sophomore years. Any sophomore who is a Kelley student – and who has not been and is not a member of another KSB workshop – is eligible to apply.
This year, we have adjusted the recruitment / application timeline. The application for membership in the Consulting Workshop class of 2026 is available at this link. It is due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2024. This timeline will allow students to complete the application over winter break when they have fewer distractions.
The application process for the class of 2026 will kick off with an information session on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 7:00- 8:00 p.m. in room 1000 of Hodge Hall. The following evening, we will hold a series of discussion / networking sessions to provide interested students with opportunities to ask questions to and get to know current Consulting Workshop members. Specifically, we will have sessions on the following dates at the following times in the following places.
Date | Time | Location | Session |
Monday, December 4th | 7:00-8:00 p.m. | HH1000 | General info session |
Tuesday, December 5th | 6:30-7:15 p.m. | HH3016 | Discussion session #1 (for women) |
Tuesday, December 5th | 6:30-7:15 p.m. | HH3022 | Discussion session #2 (for members of traditionally under-represented groups) |
Tuesday, December 5th | 7:15-8:30 p.m. | HH2046 | Discussion session #3 |
All sophomores who are or may be interested in working in consulting are invited to join us for any or all of these sessions. [Note: While consulting firms typically include African-Americans, Hispanic / Latinx, LGBTQ, and sometimes Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, and others in the category of traditionally under-represented groups, we will not define the term. For purposes of the above session, anyone who views him or herself within that category is welcome. In addition, while discussion sessions #1 & #2 are targeted at specific groups, we do not want interested students to feel that they are either limited to or excluded from those sessions. Interested students are free to attend any session(s) – including multiple ones – that they would like. (Each discussion session will have different current Workshop members participating.)]
In the recruitment process, the Consulting Workshop is looking for members who will get the most out of and contribute the most to the Workshop. Admission to the Workshop is determined without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation / identification, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
